A classical hatha yoga class lasts 1 hour 30 minutes and includes asana (physical forms), pranayama (breathing practices), yoga nidra (relaxation) and meditation, with mudra and bandha added over time.
Classical hatha yoga uses physical practices - including the cleansing practices (shatkarmas), breathing practices, relaxation and meditation - to help us understand our body and mind better, so that we can reveal our true essential nature, which lies beneath the fluctuations of personality.
With its focus on developing awareness, we can learn to bring the diverse aspects of our being into greater harmony, understanding that those diverse aspects and their interplay are a natural (and beautiful) part of human life. Coming into greater alignment with our most authentic selves, we begin to feel more at ease in our own skin and more at peace with our place in the world.
My approach is simple, quiet, and reflective. I draw particular inspiration from the natural world and the elements.
